Motivations

The purpose of this article is to describe the technical procedure leading to an "orthodox" Debian operating system (totally analogous to the one that would be installed on a regular computer) running on a Raspberry Pi. The main motivation is to have a Debian standard distribution comparable to all those that work on other devices than raspberries and also offer an explanation of ALL that is done without hiding from the user commands sometimes perceived as magic and in most cases leading to a toatal misunderstanding of their consequences.

All image constructions are based on the work of [drtyhlpr] (https://github.com/drtyhlpr) available on the repository [github] (http://github.com) [rpi23-gen-image] (https://github.com/drtyhlpr/rpi23-gen-image). The repository [g_vidal rpi23-gen-image] (https://github.com/g-vidal/rpi23-gen-image) is a clone of rpi23-gen-image as much as possiblesynchronised with the original to which are added some files described in the following chapters. Differences may exist between the versions commented here and the versions available online, due to changes that must be made to respect the evolution of Debian; the online version on github is a priori and unless otherwise indicated always the most up to date ( for security reasons passwords and path indications are replaced by *****).
