Why we could not install linux on an iMac early 2006 (core Duo)

This howto describes step by step (plus comments) the method we used to try install a linux distribution on an iMac "early 2006 core duo", the famous first iMac-Intel. All the tricks failed to get graphics display, but the hackintosh2006 works perfectly as a server!
